The Curacao Foundation presented Latinos United Concert at the Los Angeles Coliseum located at 3911 S. Figueroa Street in the City of Los Angeles, California on October 20, 2018.
The concert was given to support immigrant children that have been separated from their families due to deportation of parents and children left behind. A subject that no one wants to hear, but it is reality. These children are need of help. By raising money, the Curacao Foundation hopes to provide advocacy organizations that help immigrant children some relief by providing funds to support their cause.
El Rescate and Casa Libre are only a few who contribute their time to support families. El Rescate is an organization that provides a voice to immigrant communities since 1981. They help assist Latinos to improve their political and economic well-being. Casa Libre is a license emergency and long-term shelter for minors under the age of 18 without homes.
Curacao is a department chain store that sells retail such as the latest electronics, fashion and home products. Their mission is to deliver products that makes the customer happy. Their vision is to become the leader in their market and offer best services. They also have a children’s foundation that provides direct assistance to the families in need. Curacao is also deeply involved in sponsoring other non-profit organizations such as American Heart Association, Children’s Hospital Los Angeles and City of Hope.
The concert united Latinos and others to enjoy a show presented by talented music artist such as Alicia Villarreal, Paquita La Del Barrio and Nacho perform.
Alicia Villarreal is a Mexican Singer / Songwriter. She became a lead singer for Grupo Limite in 1995. After that she left the band to pursue her solo career. In 2001, she released her first album Soy Lo Prohibido. She is a Latin Grammy Award winner.
Paquita La Del Barrio is a Mexican Grammy nominated singer of rancheras and other Mexican style music.
Nacho is a Venezuelan Singer and political activist. He was a former member of the duo Chino & Nacho. In March 2017, Chino & Nacho announced their separation. He later signed with record label Universal Music Group to continue his solo career. In April 2017, his music video for his first single Bailame was made public.
The concert was hosted by Don Cheto, Nitzia Chama and Bebe Coronel.
