The ALMAs 2018 was presented by Fuse at the LA Live Deck in Los Angeles, California on November 4, 2018. A televised special celebrating Latinos. Latinos unite and come together to celebrate Latino artists and Influencers. A televised show that brought many to honor Actress and Philanthropist Eva Longoria, the cast of Jane the Virgin, a survivor and activist.
A fun celebration of music was performed by Ally Brooke, Amara La Negra, DJ and FM (Fuse Music) hosted by Cipha Sounds. Actor, Producer and Activist Wilmer Valderrama hosted the event. Done + Dusted, a televised production (Stand up to Cancer, iHeartRadio Music Awards and Co-Producers of the 2018 Emmy) produced the event. A coming together of Latino theme “This is Our America!” gathered many for this fun celebration.
Two young activists Samantha Fuentes and Jamie Margolin were among those who were noticed for their brave work. Samantha Fuentes is a Parkland survivor and anti-gun violence advocate. For Jamie Margolin she made a difference in climate change.
ALMAs started back in 1995 in celebration by the UnidosUS (Formerly NCLR) to recognize Latinos in the field music, television and film. This year marks the 50thAnniversary of UnidosUS. This organization is the largest Latino civil rights and advocacy organization that also created the Alma Awards to promote Latinos in the entertainment industry.
The high energy party joined many Latinos on the red carpet and show.
